Hard Ships on the Economic Sea of Recession

Hey everybody,

Just a thought, we are all affected by this recession in some way or another right? What is everybody doing to get through it? How can we encourage each other and work together as a community during these hard times? Thoughts? Ideas? I thought a discussion might help inspire and open up doors. What is on the minds of the 336 community?

Well I lost my job last May and couldn't find anything. I have taken a job at the only place that I could find that was hiring...Walmart (which I really do not like). I think it may be a blessing in disguise. I have been an Amway distributor for about 5 years and haven't really put much time or energy into it. I managed a restaurant in Raleigh when I started it and had NO free time. Since losing my job I have been putting out info about the business and have been getting tremendous response. Alot of people who have lost their jobs are looking to start their own business and work for themselves. Since the Amway Corporation has been around for so long people are looking for us so it has been a great start.
I think working for myself has given me a new lease on life and it is a wonderful feeling knowing that I am working for my future not a boss or company's future.
